QUBBC Novice men had an encouraging start to the main Head season winning two penitents The N4+ and N8+. Full results can be found (Here).  Next up for the Novice men is Earn Head next week were two men’s eights have been entered.

Novice Training Camp

Novice training camp 25 to 28 January 2012

The novice men joined the novice ladies on the Lagan this week for a post exam training camp.  The gap in the University time table allowed the men to have 4 days of continuous rowing.   It was a great chance of them to get some mileage on the water while also receiving continuous feedback   on their progress in the sport. 

Head Season

Sligo Head 2012 (21 January)

Unfortunately having made the early morning journey to the west, The 2012 Sligo head of the river was cancelled due to the strong wind on the course.  Despite this and as an alternative to the racing in Sligo the novice men and women took the opportunity to have a training day on the river erne in Enniskillen (Photos below). We would like to thank Portora Boat club for providing the team and coaches with motor boats at such short notice and Helping to make such a productive day despite the early set back.

After a restful Christmas break the novice men and their coaches  returned to training in early January to  prepare for the fast approaching Head season.
